Chocolate Fudge Balls

Chocolate Fudge Balls

Brigadeiros are a beloved Brazilian confection, a simple yet decadent treat made from condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter. These small, fudgy balls are perfect for parties, celebrations, or simply as a sweet indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Chocolate sprinkles for rolling

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter.
  2. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to pull away from the bottom and sides of the pan, about 10-15 minutes. This is often referred to as the "brigadeiro point."
  3. Pour the mixture onto a greased plate or shallow dish.
  4. Let it cool completely, preferably in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, until firm enough to handle.
  5. Grease your hands with butter.
  6. Roll small portions of the mixture into bite-sized balls.
  7. Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles until evenly coated.
  8. Place the brigadeiros in small paper candy cups if desired.
